In a tragic incident, a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of one individual on the transition between southbound Interstate 15 and Interstate 805 near City Heights in San Diego. The accident occurred in the early hours of Friday and was reported to authorities at around 1:30 a.m.
According to logs from the California Highway Patrol, a box truck lost control, veering onto the left-hand shoulder, overturning, and colliding with a tree. The collision resulted in a massive blaze engulfing the vehicle. Sadly, at least one person lost their life in the crash. As of now, the identity of the victim and whether there were any other occupants in the vehicle remain unknown.
The accident’s severity led to the California Highway Patrol implementing a “hard closure” for the transition, diverting all traffic to the southbound I-15. As of 7 a.m., the road closure continues, causing traffic disruptions.
Currently, it is uncertain whether adverse weather conditions played a role in causing the crash. Unfortunately, no further details or information are available at this time.
