Pedestrian Fatally Struck, Dragged in Hit-and-Run Traffic Collision in Los Angeles

In a tragic incident that occurred in Vermont Square, Los Angeles on December 17, a pedestrian lost their life after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision. The incident took place early Sunday morning when a vehicle hit the pedestrian and callously continued to drag the severely injured victim along the street before fleeing the scene.

The Los Angeles Fire Department received a distress call reporting a “person down” shortly after 2 a.m. The incident took place on Western Avenue, just north of Vernon Avenue, within the Vermont Square neighborhood in South Los Angeles. Emergency responders swiftly located the injured individual and transported them to a nearby hospital.

Later, the Los Angeles Police Department was informed by the Los Angeles Fire Department that the victim had been struck by a vehicle, dragged for a distance, and tragically succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. In response to this incident, a crime scene was established at the location where the Los Angeles Fire Department discovered the injured pedestrian.

As of now, there is no detailed description available for the suspect vehicle involved in this hit-and-run case. The LAPD’s South Traffic Division is actively investigating the incident in an effort to identify and apprehend the responsible party.
